Come spend a morning at beautiful Heritage Park and celebrate the people, stories, agriculture and community spirit that helped shape Mountain View.
Founded in 2017, the Harvest History Festival is now in its eighth year. The festival brings together families, local nonprofit organizations, high school students, volunteers and community members for a free morning of activities, entertainment and local history.
It is a celebration of where Mountain View came from — and of the people who continue to make our community a wonderful place to live.
There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors can explore Heritage Park, meet community organizations, learn about Mountain View’s agricultural roots and enjoy a relaxed morning outdoors with family and friends.

Long before Mountain View became known worldwide as a center of technology, the area was surrounded by orchards, farms and agricultural businesses.
Harvest History Festival was created to keep that history alive.
Heritage Park provides a particularly meaningful setting for the festival. The park preserves a connection to Mountain View’s past and is also home to the historic Immigrant House, which was relocated from downtown Mountain View and preserved for future generations.
Through exhibits, activities and conversations with local organizations, the festival gives children and adults an opportunity to discover another side of Mountain View — the community that existed before Silicon Valley.
Young people are an important part of Harvest History Festival.
Local Key Club high school students work alongside Kiwanis members and other community volunteers to help make the event possible. The festival also serves as a fundraising opportunity benefiting youth service activities.
Key Club is the high-school service organization associated with Kiwanis International. Through service projects, students develop leadership skills while giving back to their communities.
When you attend Harvest History Festival, you are not only enjoying a community event — you are helping encourage the next generation of community volunteers and leaders.
Heritage Park is one of Mountain View’s unique neighborhood parks and an important link to the city’s history.
The historic Immigrant House once stood in downtown Mountain View and represents the lives of the immigrant families and workers who helped build the community.
The Kiwanis Club of Mountain View has been closely involved with efforts surrounding Heritage Park and the preservation of Immigrant House. Today, the site continues to offer an opportunity to learn about Mountain View’s agricultural and immigrant history.
Harvest History Festival gives visitors a chance to experience that history in the place where it is being preserved.
One of the festival’s most important traditions is bringing local nonprofit and community organizations together in one place.
Participating organizations provide activities, information and opportunities for families to learn more about the many groups serving Mountain View and the surrounding area.
The result is more than a festival. It is a gathering of people who care about their community.
For 100 years, the Kiwanis Club of Mountain View has brought local volunteers together to improve the lives of children and strengthen our community.
